Sustainability at Stage Circuit

Sustainability isn’t an add-on to our work — it’s part of how we design, build, and deliver every project.

Stage Circuit was founded on a reuse-first model. Wherever possible, we prioritise hiring, repurposing, repairing, and reconfiguring equipment before purchasing new. Our stock is built to be modular, durable, and adaptable across productions, helping reduce unnecessary material waste while keeping budgets realistic.

We understand that theatre and live events operate under time pressure, creative ambition, and financial constraint. Our role is to make sustainable choices practical — not complicated.

What This Means in Practice

  • Designing custom scenic electrics that can be reused across multiple productions

  • Specifying energy-efficient components, including LED systems and low-voltage solutions

  • Building equipment for longevity, maintenance, and repair rather than disposal

  • Tracking equipment usage to better understand power consumption and environmental impact

  • Offering transparent sustainability reporting to support clients’ own environmental commitments

We are actively developing systems that allow us to measure and report the environmental impact of our involvement in each project — turning data into meaningful insight for producers, venues, and funders.

Our Commitment to Continuous Improvement

We recognise that sustainability is an ongoing process. As standards evolve — including guidance such as the Theatre Green Book — so does our practice. We are committed to reviewing our supply chain, materials, logistics, and working methods to reduce impact year on year.

Our aim is simple: to support creative work that is technically excellent, financially viable, and environmentally responsible.
